Part 2: When Taxes Become a Long-Term Drag on Wealth

As income grows, taxes move from background noise to a dominant force. Higher marginal rates, layered taxes, and timing mismatches can quietly erode wealth year after year. What feels manageable in isolation becomes significant when viewed across decades of ownership, reinvestment, and eventual exit.

For mature business owners, the real risk is not paying taxes—it is paying them inefficiently, repeatedly, and without alignment to long-term goals. Wealth tax planning exists to identify where that drag is occurring and whether it is serving a purpose or simply persisting by default.
